Windows
- Requires Windows 2000, XP or Vista.
- Requires Java 1.4+ (1.5+ recommended). If you don't already have Java 1.5+, please get it from java.com.
- Download the installer (below) and run it.
Windows Vista users: You must run the installer as administrator. To do this, right-click on the file after downloading and choose 'Run as administrator'. If you run it normally, it will not work. - If you want to uninstall the program later, just delete the folder inside Program Files.

Mac OS X
- Requires OS X 10.3.9+.
- Download the DMG file and open it.
- Drag the leafChat icon into your Applications folder.
- Double-click the icon to run.

Linux and other operating systems

- Non-Sun Java implementations may not work. If you experience problems with these, please use the Sun implementation.
- Expand the zip file to a suitable location where you want to keep the program.
- Double-click on leafchat.jar to run, or run
java -jar leafchat.jarfrom the command line.
